Car Rentals - Hire Cars
Major self drive car rental firms have offices in all towns, as well as at the Larnaka International Airport.
A list of firms supplying self drive cars can be found in the Cyprus Tourism Organisation¡¯s annual ¡°Guide to Hotels, Travel Agencies and other Tourist Services¡± obtainable from all Cyprus Tourism Organisation Offices in Cyprus and abroad.

Self-drive cars are also known as Z cars because their registration number, which is shown on red plates, starts with the letter ¡°Z¡±.

Categories of cars available for hiring:
A Category: up to 800 cc (4 seats car)
B Category: 801-1000 cc (5 seats car)
C Category: 1001-1300 cc (5 seats car)
D Category: 1301-1600 cc ( 5 seats car)
E Category: 1601-1800 cc ( 4 + 5 seats car)
F Category: 1300-2500 cc (open car, 4-6 seats car)
G Category: over 1800 cc (7 seats car)
Note: Summer Rates are in effect as from April 1 - October 31.
Winter Rates are in effect as from November 1 - March 31

Companies offer reduced rates during the Winter period.

Pajero and Patrol (Long - 7 seats), Air-conditioned 4 wheel-drive car.
i. Rates vary according to the number of days of rent, period of the year and extras.
ii. In case of damages, the customer is responsible for the first C£300 for categories A, B and C and the first C£500 for category D, E, F and G.
iii. Unlimited kilometers.
iv. The car can be delivered and collected at the airports by prior arrangement.
v. The car is usually delivered to the customer with a full tank paid for by the customer. If the car is returned full, the customer receives a refund , unless stated otherwise in the contract.
vi. Drivers under 25 years of age holding a driving licence for less than 3 years at the time of rental, must inform the car rental company so as an under-age insurance coverage is provided.
vii. Customers should read all the information on the rental car agreement and demand fulfillment of all their rights when they rent a car.

Motorcycles
a) When driving a motorcycle (i.e. over than 50cc) please have in mind the following:
- The rider and pillion rider of a motorcycle and autocycle must always wear a crash helmet when travelling on any road. The rider of motorcycle and autocyle may carry only one person over 12 years old, sitting astride behind the driver¡¯s seat.
- It is strictly forbidden to drive racing-motor-cycles within the boundaries of all coastal holiday resorts, and Lefkosia between 20:00 hrs and 06:00 hrs. One may contact the Area Police Division for further guidance as to in which areas motor¨Ccycling is forbidden.
b) When driving an autocycle (i.e. less than 50cc) please have in mind the folfowing:
- The rider and pillion rider of an autocycle must always wear a crash helmet on any road.
- Auto-cyclist driving an autocycle cannot carry any passenger under 12 years old.

a) Moped C£ 2.50-C£4.00 per day
b) Scooter C£ 3.00-C£14.00 per day
c) Sheet C£ 7.00-C£25.00 per day
d) Euduro C£ 5.50-C£24.00 per day
