Trying to sum up the special appeal of these waters is like packing a bag for an epic journey through four seasons - or editing years of underwater video into just 30 minutes of tape! There is simply no way to fit everything in. Fiji is to diving what New Orleans is to jazz, Paris is to cuisine, and New York is to nightlife. Exciting, charismatic, unique and, most of all, vibrantly colorful. But unlike these big cities, the only bustling crowds you¡¯ll find in Fiji are the wall-to-wall, jam-packed coral, fish and critter communities on these pristine South Pacific reefs.

Every destination has a signature scene: Cocos ¨C hammerheads; Chuuk ¨C wrecks; Bahamas ¨C dolphins. However, with its 330 islands surrounded by reefs and the entire spectrum of tropical underwater terrain, Fiji is impossible to sum up with a single image. But from the sharks, rays and 1000 species of fish to the soft corals, sea stars and myriad shrimp, one word does describe Fiji¡¯s extremely diverse diving: color.
