From Christchurch we cross to the west coast with the help of the Tranz Alpine train to walk on Fox Glacier, a spectacular river of moving ice. We then drive via the spectacular Cleddau Valley to reach dramatic Milford Sound, where we take an overnight cruise through this world-famous glacial valley.

Flights originating from the USA/UK will usually arrive in Auckland early on Monday morning. Participants will then catch a domestic flight to Christchurch, where you will be met by your guides. Then check-in at your accommodation before you head out in the early afternoon to blow away the cobwebs on a single track Mountain Bike ride at a nearby forest. Just the thing to keep you awake and start the adrenaline flowing in preparation for the next 14 days of high adventure that awaits you. Needless to say though, after such a long flight and a bit of biking, you should be ready for an early dinner, and some shut-eye in preparation for the next days hiking."
