Our guided interpretive hikes onto the Athabasca Glacier are designed for anyone with a desire to see and discover the world of glacier ice. Our specially trained glacier guides will ensure that you are capable, properly outfitted and led safely across the glacier. Here’s what we can offer you:

Ice Cubed

This three to four hour walk explores the lower half of the Athabasca Glacier and offers superb views of glacial features, ice carved landscapes and other alpine glaciers.
Daily, 10:40 A.M., departing promptly at 11:00 AM., except Sundays and Thursdays (check the Icewalk Deluxe section for events on those days)


Icewalk Deluxe

These hikes are for those who wish to see as much as possible of the world of glacier ice on a full day trip. They are relatively strenuous. Due to snow and ice conditions they may not begin until early July.

Snowy Owl Sled Dog Kennel was created in 1983 by Connie and Charles Arsenault whose passion for the sport has created this family legacy. Regrettably, on October 7th, 2006, Charles Arsenault passed away unexpectedly leaving Connie and their two children Jereme (24 years) and Carlin (22 years) to carry on this legacy. Proudly, both Jereme and Carlin have a vested interest in the ownership and operation of Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours Inc.

Over the last 26 years we have seen many dogs come and go, new friends made, small paths have become well traveled trails and challenges have been overcome. The one thing that will always be constant is the love and support of our four-legged family for which we will always be grateful!
