Dolphin Fleet
Sailing mid-April through October with 3-4 hour cruises, departing from MacMillan Pier in Provincetown."In 1975 the Dolphin Fleet started whale watching out of Provincetown, Massachusetts with the hope of bringing an understanding and awareness to the public about whales and their environment. We ventured out on educational trips with scientists to study whales as well as educate the public about marine mammals and their habitat. The first trips where a great success! Our customers were awed by these magnificent creatures charging out of the depths to capture the small fish that that is their diet. Even more exciting was a whale leaving the water with it¡¯s 40 tons of mass crashing back with an explosion of water in it¡¯s wake. People were eager to go again to see these whales in their natural habitat and learn more about them.
Because we work with whales in the wild, each trip is different. The special habitat we visit is the summer home to such species as the Humpback, Finback and Minke whales. The North Atlantic Right Whale is one of the most endangered species in the world, and may be seen in and around the waters of Provincetown and Cape Cod Bay. Toothed varieties such as pilot whales, white-sided dolphins and harbor porpoise are often seen as well. These are just a few of "
