North Island Kayak Telegraph Cove, British Columbia, Canada"North Island Kayak has been conducting Guided Sea Kayak Tours and providing Sea Kayak Rentals from our home in picturesque Telegraph Cove, British Columbia, into the wilderness of North Vancouver Island, Canada for many years. We have sea kayak tours to suit all ages, abilities and interests, from a two hour family oriented sea kayak adventure that makes sea kayaking accessible for everyone, to six day nomadic wilderness sea kayak expeditions that will take you deep into the territories of the aboriginal inhabitants of the region and naturally we provide the opporunity to experience the killer whales or orca. We specialize in small group sizes, typically of less than six guests, to minimize our impact on the environment we love, while providing a personal experience that you may not find in larger groups.
The areas served by our guided sea kayak tours and sea kayak rentals include Johnstone Strait, Queen Charlotte Strait, The Broughton Archipelago and Gods Pocket Marine Parks; collectively these form The Realm of The Orca, or home of the killer whale. These remote British Columbia marine environments are teeming with wildlife including Orca or Killer Whales, Humpback Whales"

TIde Rip Grizzly Tours Telegraph Cove, British Columbia, Canada"Enjoy the majesty of the coastal mountains as we explore spectacular Knight Inlet to find grizzly bears in the spring. As the snows melt, both black and grizzly bears emerge from their hibernation dens on the mountain slopes. Departs 7 AM Returns 4 PM Hungry bears make their way down to feed on the spring sedge grasses in the river lowlands. Sedges have 20% vegetable protein value, enough to sustain the bears. At low tide the bears feed along the inlet beaches, eating seaweed and turning over rocks to find crabs, barnacles and mussels. Many of the young bears are blond in the spring. Bears are conserving energy this time of the year. They get up late, and take siestas when ever they feel safe. Big Bertha here opened one eye when the camera shutter clicked. Late May to mid June is the mating season with lots of interesting interaction. The big boars chase the not-too-interested females, displacing other bears along the beach. Certainly this is our favourite time of the viewing season. "
